ONE FUKUOKA HOTEL opened on April 24, 2025, in the free-spirited district of Tenjin. The Fukuoka Building that once stood on this site was long loved as a hub of fashion and culture, and ONE FUKUOKA BLDG., completed in 2025, carries that memory forward. Step into the hotel on the top floors and you find a stillness close to the sky, with sweeping views of the cityscape and Hakata Bay from the lounge, guest rooms, and grand bath.
In a space guests visit to enjoy an escape from the everyday, staff formally dressed in neckties might create an unintended sense of tension. With that in mind, we adopted a no-collar, no-tie setup style — removing stiffness and preserving a relaxed, easy atmosphere.
The colors follow the property's concept palette of greige and beige in bright tones. Soft, pale shades often raise concerns about visible stains, but they have caused no real problems in operation and no complaints from staff. Informed by how the uniforms actually perform on the floor, we feel the color choice was the right one.
Wide-leg pants for both men and women keep innerwear lines from showing and prevent the back from being exposed when crouching. Staff frequently comment on how easy the uniform is to wear, and we can see how these small considerations reduce everyday stress on the job.
The shirts are designed to be worn untucked — a first for the company. The style resists looking disheveled and suits every body type: a design that raises the baseline for everyone rather than flattering a particular figure. In a uniform everyone can wear with confidence, that has real value.
The design concept for this uniform is "a uniform that lets you feel the breeze." Just as the hotel values letting guests feel the breeze wherever they are, the uniform reflects the same theme. When the airy fabric sways in the wind, even the flow of time seems to slow. That sense of space and ease is exactly what the hotel wants to offer — and the uniform, too, should be part of that experience.
